Education – Fullerton Junior College in Fullerton, California; Masters in merchandising and teacher’s certificate at University of Southern California in 1937

Occupation – High school business teacher, secretary

Firsts - 1st First Lady to wear pants in public.

Causes - Advocated volunteer service and travelled to the People’s Republic of China, Soviet Union, Peru, Africa and South America as First Lady

Other offices – Office of Price Administration: price analyst & economic analyst

Died - June 23, 1993 in Park Ridge, New Jersey
